Keynote Speaker
Sheryl Swoopes was born to be a basketball legend. With a name that rhymes with hoops and a court presence that had fans comparing her to Jordan, it was destiny. Swoopes was the first player signed by the WNBA and became one of the league's most celebrated athletes of all time. A three-time WNBA MVP and four-time WNBA champion with the Houston Comets (1997–2000), Swoopes was known for her versatility and defensive prowess. The world watched her on-court presence and recognized immediately her role in redefining the Dream Team. She made history as the first female basketball player to have a Nike shoe named after her, the "Air Swoopes." Before her professional career, she led Texas Tech University to an NCAA championship in 1993, setting a record for most points scored in a title game. Internationally, Swoopes won three Olympic gold medals and multiple FIBA World Cup titles. Her accolades include induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (2016) and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame (2017). Swoopes legacy extends far beyond the court, inspiring generations of athletes and breaking barriers in sports and society.

SPORTS PSYCHOLOGIST
Lacey is the mental performance coach with the Portland Timbers. She is a Paralympian, an American Record holder in the long jump, a world record holder in the pole vault, Para Pan American Silver Medalist, 9x National Champion, and a former Div 1 athlete. Much of Lacey’s success can be attributed to working with a sport psychologist during her professional track and field career. That mental performance work helped her fully embrace the multiple identities she has as a cancer survivor and a disabled athlete to make space for top performances on the world stage. She owns and runs Parallel Performance Sport Psychology Consulting, a private practice helping all athletes of all levels. She has influenced policy changes in the Colorado State Legislature. Her goals are to assist in making space for the multiple aspects of identity to facilitate high performance for people across all domains of life. Lacey also is the first Paralympian to host the Paralympics in the host country with NBC for the 2024 Paralympic Games.

PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS DANCER
I was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii and moved to Portland in 2016 to attend the University of Portland. Being a 3x State and 4x National champion in Varsity and All-Star cheer, I took a chance and auditioned for the Pilots Dance Team with no previous dance experience. I quickly fell in love with dancing and was on the team for 4 years.
I like to excel at what I do, so I wanted to be a Blazer Dancer one day. After graduating from UP in 2020, I danced for the Winterhawks, LYFE Dance Company, and achieved my dream of becoming a Blazer Dancer in 2023, completing my second season with the Trail Blazers this year. It sounds cliché, but I hope to show younger athletes that you can achieve anything you want if you focus, work hard, and believe in yourself.
Off the court, I’m a Graduate Student at the University of Oregon studying Sports Product Management. Being Native Hawaiian, it is important to stay true to my roots and celebrate where I come from. I hope to contribute to the sports product industry by creating change for the communities I serve and telling their diverse stories. Afterall, sport is the strongest way to bring people together.
